Lakshman Sagar

Built as a hunting lodge in the 19th century, it epitomises the tradition and culture of Rajputs. Every corner of this resort depicts the veracity of the locale. Whether it’s the man-made lake or the machans used for tiger spotting, everything has been restored with great care. Though you might not get to hunt tigers like the old days, you will definitely receive the same hospitality with comfort & tranquility.

OVERVIEW:

Spread over 32 acres at the Badlands of India and overlooking the Fatehgarh Fort, the design of the resort is influenced by the Rajasthani architecture and reveals the local lifestyle. A man-made lake, a stunning single rock carved pool and rocky-uneven terrain make it a picture perfect place. Due to rocky paths, this place is not deemed as child-friendly. The attractions nearby this resort are – Karni Mata Temple (134 km), Mastan Baba Dargah (1 km), Raipur Fort (6 km), Bagri Fort (45 km), and Todgarh Wildlife Sanctuary (35 km).

  • With its rocky paths, steep steps, and high drops, the property is neither wheelchair-accessible nor child-friendly. Teens over 12 preferred.

ROOMS (No. of Cottages- 12 (Size- 900 sq. ft.)):

Divided into 2 clusters (6 cottages on either side of the lake), all the cottages are spacious and features living rooms with fire places and colorful artifacts, a chair made from Katran, independent bedrooms, stone bathrooms with rain showers, private pools facing the lake, minibar, and tea/coffee maker. The rooms are adorned with rugs and cushions and earthy beige dried mud walls, which give a rustic magnetism and royal elegance.

  • Enjoy ‘field breakfast’ at a local farmer’s hut.
  • Bathe in the sun at the sun deck.
  • Do yoga and meditation or have a massage in the open-air ‘machan’.

  • If you are feeling too lazy to move, just relax at the stunning pool and watch birds (you may spot Bee-eaters, Kingfishers, Myna, and Heron).
  • In the night, sit near the lake and gaze at the milky way and spot some shooting stars.

RESTAURANT:

The resort has 2 dining lounging areas – ‘The Zanana’ and ‘The Mardana’. The chefs at Laxman Sagar mainly serve Rajasthani delicacies. However, they can fulfill your dietary requirements. Most of the vegetables are grown on-site. They do not have any fix menu for lunch and dinner. In the breakfast, you may get freshly prepared lime-juice, fruit salad, cooked eggs, or potato-stuffed paratha with spicy pickles and homemade yogurt. Depending on your preference, you can have your meals privately, in the ‘Zanana’ dining rooms, or under the stars on the open-air ‘Mardana’ terrace. As the sun sets, you are offered local liquors (in varieties of fragrance like cardamom, mint and rose) or ginger tea. 

LOCATION:

  • By Air – Jodhpur is the nearest domestic airport at 134 km. It has regular domestic flights from Udaipur, Jaipur, Mumbai, and Delhi. You can travel either by rail or road from there to reach Pali. Hire a taxi or contact the resort for pick & drop facility. You will have to drive for 2.5 hours from Jodhpur Airport to reach the resort.
  • By Rail – Haripur is the nearest railway station, which is just 3 km from the resort. Other nearest railway stations are – Marwar Junction (80 km), Beawar (43 km), and Pali (87 km). Take a taxi from there or request the pick and drop facility of the resort.
  • By Road – Buses to Pali are available from Kota (280 km), Jaipur (230 km), and Jodhpur (155 km). Take a taxi from the Pali bus stand or request the pick and drop facility of the resort.
