If you are looking for an adventurous getaway at a luxurious place, Jawai is certainly the best destination. Sujan group is well-renowned for its service and intimacy with the wilderness, and their Jawai Leopard Camp is no exception. The main attraction of this place is leopard, which roam freely. The hospitality & cozy ambiance at the camp is equally worth a mention.

OVERVIEW:-

The camp is located in the unspoilt wilderness around the Jawai River, far away from major cities like Udaipur & Jodhpur. With minimum permanent structures and 5-star services with utmost hospitality, it is an impressive initiative to protect the local wildlife by bridging the gap between tourist & wilderness in a way that is beneficial for both. There are also a few local attractions in the region that you may want to visit- Ranakpur (40 km) & Kumbhalgarh (70 km).

  • Best time to visit: From October to early April, the weather remains warm, dry, and less humid (the nights remain chilled). Before the arrival of monsoon, the temperature soars to 38°C. The rain here lasts until the late September.

ROOMS (No. of Tents- 8):

The spacious canvas tents with white interiors look elegant at first sight. The use of leather gives them a premium feel. Equipped with modern en-suite bathroom, writing desk, king-size bed, and proper heating & cooling system, the canvas doesn’t let the guests miss the comforts of home. Private veranda and a sit out is for you to relax & enjoy the surreal views. The use of stainless steel and local stone add charm to the tents. All the tents are hand stitched.

  • Go for bird watching. The region is a home to hundreds of species of exotic birds including Storks, Herons, and Flamingos.

Don’t Forget: Binoculars, Boots, Scarves & hats, Jawai provides binoculars and cameras for guests, but if you want to capture crocodiles next to the lake, birds, and the leopards, bring a decent telephoto lens, Sunglasses, Dental & shaving kit, Bathroom slippers, Toiletries

Dining at Jawai is an adventure in itself. The buffet style breakfast in the dining tent overlooking wilderness or the dinner at campfire where exotic stories are shared, are just a few options for how you choose to savor the meals coming from the live kitchen. The camp also offers a wide range of indigenous & foreign liquor to soothe the travelers after an exciting day.

LOCATION:-

  • By Air – Jodhpur & Udaipur are the nearest domestic airport at 153 km & 127 km respectively, with frequent flights on major national routes. Jaipur (386 km) is the closest options for international flights. From there, you can choose rail or bus to reach Pali. Take a taxi to reach the camp.
  • By Rail – Udaipur is the nearest railway station at 127 km, with good connectivity to all major cities like Jaipur, Ahmedabad, Jodhpur, Udaipur, etc. Jawai Bandh is the nearest station at 12 km, but very few trains stop here. Take a taxi from there to reach the place.
  • By Road – The place is located quite interior near Jawai dam (12 km) on Jawai river which makes it unreachable directly by regular buses. You will have to reach Pali by bus. From there, you can hire a taxi.
