OVERVIEW: –

Sprawling in 15 acres of green lawns, Rajmahal Palace was first built as a garden resort by Maharaja Sawai Jai Singh II in 1729 AD, for his beloved wife. It served as the official accommodation of the British Resident Political Officer of Rajputana until 1958 when Maharaja Sawai Man Singh II made it his private residence. Hawa Mahal (4.9 kms), City Palace (4.3 kms), Jal Mahal (14.8 kms), Jaigarh (14.7 kms), Albert Hall (3.7 kms), Jantar Mantar (4.4 kms), Birla Temple (4.2 kms), Nahargarh (4.7 kms), and Amber Fort (12.4 kms).

ROOMS (No. of Rooms- 14 (Royal Apartments, Royal Suites, Palace Suites, Palace Rooms)):

Royal Apartments:

  • The Maharaja’s Apartment (Ram Niwas) (3126 sq. ft.)- This apartment includes of The Yuvraj and The Maharaja Suite. The apartment comes with private entrance hall, the latest entertainment system, large marble bathroom with 2 basins, a bathtub and shower, main bedroom, a private dining room (can accommodate 8 persons), a private terrace, drawing room, a separate bar, living area. The Yuvraj Suite comprises of en-suite bathroom, dressing room, and one double bedroom.
  • The Maharani’s Apartment (2899 sq. ft.)- This apartment is provided with a grand entrance hall, kitchen, dining room, en-suite bathroom, sitting room attached with a dressing room, and a vast master bedroom. The occupants of this apartment enjoy Chauffeur Service as well as services of a private butler.

Royal Suites:

  • The Mountbatten Suite – (1271 ft.) The suite features en suite bathroom, double bedroom, pantry, dressing room, and a drawing room.
  • The Queen Elizabeth II Suite – (1530 sq. ft.) Queen Elizabeth stayed in this suite in 1961. This suite is perfect if you are visiting with your family. It comes with en suite bathroom, a large double bedroom, pantry, dining room, dressing room, a drawing room, and a separate bathroom and double bedroom.
  • The Kennedy Suite – (1024 ft.) This suite was named after Jackie Kennedy (Former First Lady of the United States), who stayed here in 1962. It features en suite bathroom, one double bedroom, dining room, dressing room, and a drawing room.

Palace Suites

All the suites feature one double bedroom, en suite bathroom, and dressing room.

  • The Prince of Wales Suite – (938 ft) The Prince of Wales used to stay in this suite during the polo season.
  • The Princess of Wales Suite – (960 sq. ft.) The suite was named after Diana (the Princess of Wales) when she visited the Rajmahal Palace with Prince Charles.
  • The Resident’s Suite – (862 sq. ft.) It was once the official residence of the British Resident Political Officer.
  • The Yuvraj Suite – (647 ft.) This suite served as the private quarters of Sawai Bhawani Singh and his father Sawai Man Singh II. You can occupy this suite only when the Maharaja’s Apartment (Ram Niwas) is not booked.

Palace Rooms

All the rooms come with one double bedroom, en suite bathroom, and dressing room. Sukh Niwas I and II also have verandah (382 sq. ft.) and shared sitting room (538 sq. ft.).

  • Madho Niwas I– 468 ft.
  • Madho Niwas II – 411 ft.
  • Sukh Niwas 1 – 342 ft.
  • Sukh Niwas II – 411 ft.

THE SUJAN (Spa):

Situated in Rang Niwas, it offers several custom therapies as per the need of your body. 

EXPLORE:

  • Take culinary tours or excursion to the nearby places like Hawa Mahal, Nahargarh Fort, Jantar Mantar, etc.
  • If you are feeling lazy and don’t want to go out for sightseeing, splash water in the swimming pool.

FOOD & DRINKS: –

THE COLONNADE (Restaurant):

This restaurant has tall glass doors, and overlooks gardens and lawns. The non-residents can also enjoy lunch or dinner here, but they will have to make a reservation in advance.

51 SHADES OF PINK (Restaurant):

Painted in Pink and White, this restaurant serves breakfast. The morning light makes the restaurant very beautiful when it falls on the mirrored spaces.

THE ORIENT OCCIDENT (Restaurant):

It is the favorite dining place of H.H. the Queen Mother, Rajmata Padmini Devi of the Pink City. Here, you can savor some of the rare dishes of Jaipur along with traditional cuisines.

THE RAJMAHAL CAFÉ

This pool side dining in the property offers  great continental options with a very subtle ambience.

THE POLO BAR (Bar):

It showcases several trophies and accolades that the royal family has won on the polo fields. You can choose from a delicious menu.  

LOCATION: –

  • By Air – The nearest airport is Jaipur International Airport, which is around 11.8 kms from the hotel. Request transfer facility from the hotel or book a cab.
  • By Rail – There are two railways stations close to hotel – Gandhi Nagar Railway Station and Jaipur Junction. The distance from Jaipur Junction to the hotel is just 2.0 kms and from Gandhi Nagar Railway Station is 5.3 kms. Book a cab or request a pick & drop facility from the hotel.
  • By Road – Jaipur is easy to reach by road from Delhi as well as other parts of Rajasthan. From the bus stop (Sindhi Camp), it is 1.9 kms away. Take a cab to reach the hotel. If you are coming directly from Delhi by road, you will have to drive 267 kilometers.
