Located on the south bank of the Yamuna River, this abiding marble monument to the love of the Mughal King Shah Jahan for his beloved wife, Mumtaz Mahal. It’s also an everlasting testament to the aesthetic and scientific achievements of an affluent empire. Fable has it that she constrained him with a deathbed pact to build her the most alluring mausoleum ever known.  Inlaid with semi-precious stones and carvings and Koranic stanza in calligraphy conceive a captivating interior space.
