Things to Keep In Mind While Travelling After Lockdown

EAT, PLAY, RELAX, SHOPPING

May 19,2020

Himanshi Sharma

The Coronavirus pandemic has surely sabotaged several travelling plans all over the globe. But, the fight against coronavirus is a critical and long one. And, the magnitude of this epidemic cannot be ignored; entire nations have been ordered to stay at home, airlines have been shut down, travel companies are losing a ton of money, and hotels have become the new hospitals.

As bizarre as the situation may seem now, things will get better, hopefully, sooner rather than later. Travel enthusiasts will be looking forward to getting back on the road again. However, travelling post the lockdown will not be the same as before.

Here Are Nine Things You Need to Keep in Mind While Travelling After Lockdown:-

  1. Travel & Security Protocols will Change – As will the Onboard Experiences

Healthchecks will become run-of-the-mill, temperature checks will be mandatory for every passenger and distancing will become the new norm for socializing. There are several indications of these changes, and you may witness tighter security and health protocols in place while travelling. So, before boarding a flight or train, make sure you are well-rested and not sick. You wouldn’t want to be deboarded from a plane just because you had a mild fever.

  1. Travel Closer to Home

Take the train before the plane!

Flying will be possible after the lockdown is lifted but the routes will be severely limited. So, plan your travel closer to home, within your country rather than international. The health of the economy has a long recovery road ahead, but if you want to visit an international destination, you might have to wait a while. Till then, take the train, and stay closer to home.

  1. The Cost of Travel is Uncertain but Could Drop

A depression in the economy is expected, and there are rumours that the cost of travel may reduce. The airline, travel and hospitality industry is suffering colossal losses; so to cover these losses, the cost of travel and stay may be reduced, promoting travel plans for people nationwide.

  1. Travel During Fall and Winter

Summer is the peak travel season around the globe, but the coronavirus pandemic has already consumed this year’s summer. In fact, you should prefer travelling during the fall or winter season to avoid crowded places. This way, you may even get better deals, and enjoy the mild weather in the process.

  1. Keep a Close Eye on Those You Travel & Eat With

With uncertainty still in the air about safety, not everyone will be ready to travel right away. Some might need more assurance while travelling. This means you may have to wait a while before planning a trip, but whenever you do, make sure the people around you are not sick. The symptoms of coronavirus are flu-like so avoid travelling with people who have a cold or cough. As far as eating is concerned, consider places that maintain supreme levels of hygiene such as well-reputed restaurants or hotel chains.

  1. Look for Best Deals (and Great Value!)

Low prices on book now and travel later!

Now is the time to score your dream trip, that too at affordable prices. Tour operators & travel companies are offering low rates and great discounts if you decide to book now and travel later. Don’t waste this crisis and schedule a future trip right now!

If the low prices don’t entice you, the refund & cancellation policies might. Many travel companies are offering flexible refund & cancellation policies. So, if you need to cancel or adjust your plans later down the road, you can book now and plan later.

  1. Create a Travel Budget

It can be daunting to create a budget for an international trip. Once you have your travel goals in place, now is the time to seize the opportunity. With lower prices, you can boost your bucket list with destinations like Rajasthan, Ajmer, Jaipur, as well as international destinations like Maldives, Petra, etc.

  1. Don’t Forget About Travel Insurance

Better safe than sorry!

This point cannot be stressed enough – protect your hard-earned travel investment with reliable travel insurance in place. No one likes to book a trip and lose the deposit if something unexpected occurs and they are not able to make the trip. Travel insurance not only protects your travel expenses but also provides coverage during your trip for any travel hiccups you may encounter. Having a flexible coverage can put your mind at ease, especially in the times of such uncertainty due to the coronavirus outbreak.

  1. Pack Differently

Coronavirus outbreak has already mandated the use of hand-sanitizers and masks while going outside. The same restrictions are expected to follow once the travel industry re-opens. So. instead of make-up and perfume, make room in your luggage for hand sanitizers, masks and wet-wipes to ensure your safety.

Bottom Line

From theme parks to airports, railway stations, luxury hotels, and beyond, the rules of travelling will transform as the world re-opens. Even though there will be no shortage of domestic and international trips, travellers will be expected to adhere to strict safety policies. Nevertheless, keep these things in mind while travelling after the lockdown.

Wishing you a safe trip ahead!
