8 Liquors that Display the Heritage and Royalty of Rajasthan

Rajasthan is known for its incredible legends of heroism and striking architecture. The royal palaces and forts recite the stories of the majestic past of the state. Besides this, Rajasthan is also famous for drinks that belong to royal families. The royal beverages contain different ingredients like sandalwood, clarified butter, dry fruits, natural aphrodisiacs, etc.

The royal families used to entrust the job of brewing their own inimitable liquor to Thikanedar and Jagirdar. These liquors were used according to festivity, season, occasion, and mood of the Kings. 

In the past era, 3 types of liquors were prepared: Ikbara for common man, Dobara for higher middle class population and officers, and Asaav for royal families, Princes, and rulers.

In 2006, Rajasthan State Ganganagar Sugar Mills Ltd. (RSGSML), which is one of the oldest State Undertakings in Rajasthan, started the production of Royal Heritage Liquour using old recipes. The production of these liquors is carried out at a unit of RSGSML, i.e., Royal Heritage Liqueur Distillery, Jhotwara (Jaipur). The semi-automatic plant having R.O for water purification and state-of-art technology are used for production.

The company has launched the following 8 brands of Royal Heritage Liquors:

ROYAL KESAR KASTURI:

This royal drink is made up of 21 exotic spices, including real saffron. Try this heritage liquor in winters and unwind yourself!

ROYAL ROSE:

Rose is the main ingredient of Royal Rose. It can be consumed in summer. It can be  consumed to relieve depression and stress.

ROYAL JAGMOHAN: 

The main ingredients of this liquor are spices, herbs, seasonal fruits, dry fruits, bark, and murabas (malade) which are finely blended with butter oil (deshi ghee), milk, crystal sugar, and  saffron. It is advised to avoid acidic and citrus drink with Royal Jagmohan. It can be consumed both in  summer and winter season.

ROYAL CHANDR HAAS: 

This winter drink is prepared by mixing 80 different ingredients, including spices, sandalwood, ghee, dry fruits,Jaifal, Safed Musli, etc. No additives or colors are used in the preparation of  this sweet, strong and herbaceous drink. It can be consumed with some water or soda and crushed ice. The ingredients used in this drink are used to cure debility, weakness and increase the vigor and potency.

ROYAL SAUNF: 

Royal Saunf is a refreshing summer beverage which turns milky when water is added to it. It can be consumed with some water or soda and crushed ice. Various types of plants, herbs, and spices having medicinal value are used for the preparation of this liquor. It is rich in proteins & carbohydrates.

ROYAL MAWALIN (WINE):

It is made with spices, herbs, and dates. This liquor is bitter in taste and can be  consumed with or without soda. Royal Mawalin can cute mild aches and common cold when consumed in  small quantities. It is also used as an appetizer and cure for digestive problems.

ROYAL ELAICHI:

Cardamom is used as a main ingredient in the preparation of this liquor. Besides this, saffron leaves and crystal sugar are also used. It can be consumed in all seasons preferably before meals  and is helpful in the treatment of muscle spasms, digestive problems, and pain.

ROYAL APPLE ORANGE:

Royal Apple Orange is a refreshing summer drink which is prepared by using various types of plants, herbs, and spices. It can be consumed with some water or soda and crushed ice. The ingredients used in this liquor prevent infection and cure lower cholesterol level and constipation.
