Gajner Palace

Once a hunting resort (in the British Raj), Gajner Palace has fascinated many renowned personalities like Lord Mountbatten, Lord Erwin, Governor General Lord Elgin, and the Prince of Wales. The unhurried way of life and mind-blowing setting will leave you mesmerized. The palace is located on the edge of a lake and was transformed into a heritage hotel in 1976.


OVERVIEW: –

Stretching over an area of 6000 acres, Gajner Palace houses well spread out lawns, a private lake, and a wildlife sanctuary. It is one of the largest hotels in the world in terms of area. Built of red sand stone, the palace beautifully blends Indian & European architecture styles to bring out the influence of British Raj in India. The hotel is located far enough from the hustle of city to offer its guests a tranquil ambiance, but at the same time provides easy accessibilities to the local attractions like Junagarh Fort (33.9 kms), Karni Mata Temple (41.4 kms), Laxmi Niwas Palace (34.1 kms), and Gajner Wildlife Sanctuary (3.1 kms).

ROOMS (No. of Rooms- 45):

The 45 rooms are spread across 4 different wings viz Dungar Niwas, Mandir Chowk (part of the reception area, boasts age-old Banyan trees and an ancient temple), Gulab Niwas (railway officers used to stay here in the former times) and Champa Niwas (this section is built recently), each with their own flavor & past. All are well-equipped with modern amenities to give visitors all the comfort and make their trip unforgettable. Rooms are centrally air-conditioned and feature tea/coffee maker, mini-bar, satellite TV, private sitting area, safety lockers, sofa, en suite bathrooms, and international direct dial telephone.

  • Historic Suites (13) – The British dignitaries used to spend their leisure times in these suites. Now a part of the Dungar Niwas, huge attention has been paid to every minor detail to bring up the same vibrant interiors that those royals experienced. From furnishing to flooring, even wallpapers are carefully chosen so as to restore the aura of the bygone era. The picturesque windows and four-poster beds have been meticulously recreated.
  •  Deluxe Rooms (32)- These rooms are built in other three wings. They feature all the amenities required for a cozy stay. The rooms in Champa Niwas surround a beautiful courtyard.

THE MIRAGE (Restaurant):

The multi-cuisine restaurant that once used to be the ballroom of Maharaja, now specializes in serving Indian, Continental & Mughlai dishes. The restaurant has an extensive terrace with a sanctuary and lake view. Guests can enjoy their exotic meal in the evening, watching tribal & folk dance. You can order snacks at any time.

MRIGTRISHNA (Bar):

Located in royal Dungar Niwas, the elegant interiors coupled with the cool bridge coming through Gajner Lake, invokes a feeling of calmness & creates the perfect mood for a nice drink. It is designed on the theme of desert.

LOCATION:-

  • By Air – NAL airport is the nearest domestic airport at 21 kms, while Jaipur (380 km) is the closest option for international flights. You can commute either by rail or road from there to reach the hotel. Contact hotel for pick & drop service.
  • By Rail – Gajner station is the nearest railway station at 2.6 kms, but has limited connectivity. Bikaner Junction is the nearest major railway station at 34 kms with well connectivity to all major cities like Delhi, Jaipur, Ahmedabad, Jodhpur, etc. Take a taxi from there or use pick & drop service provided by the hotel.
  • By Road – Bikaner bus stop at 33 kms is the closest option to commute by bus. The hotel provides pick & drop service on request or you can hire a taxi to reach the hotel.
