Surajgarh Fort

Surajgarh Fort is one of the astounding heritage destinations in the Shekhawati region of Rajasthan. OVERVIEW: –

Surajgarh Fort was built in 1780. Spread in 4 acres, it is owned by Tikarani Shailija and Tikaraj Aishwarya Katoch. Despite refurbishing it with modern facilities, its architecture has not been changed. The area has many locations to visit, which will make you fall in love with the heritage of Rajasthan. There are many painted Havelis in Surajgarh and nearby areas like Kajra (5 km). Also, there are some other places like Khetri Fort (51.5 km) that can only be reached by 4×4 jeeps, Birla Museum (17 km) which is India’s first science & technology museum, and Rani Sati Temple (29 km). The nearby cities you can visit are Jhunjhunu (41 km) and the heritage city Mandawa (70 km).

Protected by a Hercules rampart, The Fort is divided in 2 forts- Maharani Fort and Maharaja Fort, which are located at two different corners of the hill

The rooms of the Maharaja Fort are magnificent. The lobby and courtyard are adorned with royal, religious, and striking paintings, which reflect the Fort’s historic legacy. Each room is equipped with modern and luxurious amenities. Each room depicts unique features such as painted walls, pillars, arches and so on. The bathrooms are fitted with modern fixtures.

Situated on the left of the hotel, the Maharani Fort is cozy. The rooms come with tea/coffee maker, attached modern bathrooms, air-conditioner and EPBX, mini fridge (only in certain rooms), LCD T.V., and geyser in the bathroom for 24x 7 hot water.

  • By Air – The nearest airports to Surajgarh Fort are Jaipur (208 km) and Delhi (175 km). From there, you have to reach the destination via road. Hire a taxi from the bus stand to reach the hotel.
  • By Rail – The railway station in Surajgarh is around 1.5 kilometers away from the hotel. If your train does not stop at Surajgarh, there are other nearby railway stations – Mukundgarh (69 km) and Jhunjhunu (44 km). From the railway station, you can hire a taxi to reach the hotel.
  • By Road – Surajgarh can be reached either by bus, taxi or your personal vehicle. The major cities that are nearest to Surajgarh are- Mandawa (16.1 km), Delhi (163 km), Jaipur (220 km) and Bikaner (262 km).
